Content marketing is the art of telling the story of your brand to educate your customers without selling. More than 88% of brands around the world adopt content marketing, because this stuff works! Content marketing requires super awesome content, if you are a content marketer, here are some quick tips to super charge you content. Let’s get started!
Make it visual
The word ‘Eye candy’ is cool, so can be your content. Content need not be pile of words every time, cheer-up and make it colourful! If you got content in the form of text, it’s great, search engines and humans like it (provided it’s good). If its visual it is even more consumable, that’s basic human psychology – need reasons why you get more likes on the pictures that you share on your Facebook wall than your status messages?
Keep it simple
Simplicity rocks! It’s a bad habit to over complicate things. People out there are so damn busy, with so much content available with click of a button, it’s difficult for people to keep up with the noise and unnecessary complications. You need to be razor focused in what you want to tell and keep it to the point. After creating content, edit it, re-edit it and repeat it till you think that your content requires minimal effort from your audience to be consumed. At times less is more. Before I complicate things, I will stop it here.
Ask – would your customers thank you for your content?
Many of us out there have an itch towards pressing that ‘publish’ button don’t we? Creating sub par content just to meet the deadlines is a sin. Whenever you think you have finished working with the content, move back, put yourself in your customer’s shoes and read the content that you created. Ask yourself that, as a customer will you thank the content creator for creating this content, if yes you have done a great job, go ahead and press the publish button, if no go back to the drawing board and start over till you create – Thank-able content.
